Hello, my name is Johan.

After graduating from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) with a masters in tax law, I started my career in tax with KPMG Meijburg & Co in Amstelveen as an assistant tax adviser mainly (1996) involved with tax advisory services to wealthy Dutch individuals/families and small and medium sized companies.

In 1999 I switched to (international) corporate tax advisory at the International Tax Services department at Ernst & Young in Amsterdam. My work at Ernst & Young mainly involved advisory services to large international corporate clients (mainly from the United States and Europe) on Dutch and international corporate income tax and capital duty consequences connected to international corporate restructurings and tax effective withholding tax, finance and royalty structures.

In 2002 I moved on to be come an in-house tax manager for Lycos Europe and later on (in 2005) for Cargill where I held various tax, legal and treasury functions in the Netherlands, the United States, Belgium and Luxembourg.

In 2019 I switched to AmbaFlex in the Netherlands. During my time at AmbaFlex I worked as their global (and only) tax manager responsible for all their tax matters in the Netherlands, the United  States, China, Japan and Romania.

Per March 1, 2021 I am self-employed as a freelance consultant. I combine my knowledge and

experience I gained in the past to serve my clients. I am based in Volendam (20 km north of Amsterdam).
